Fernando Alonso eliminated by MGU-H rotation speed problem

  Mexican Grand Prix – McLaren Honda's Fernando Alonso retired from the Mexican race on Lap 1, due to a MGU-H problem. Alonso started the race from P18, but was back in the pits by the end of the first lap. He radioed in to complain about a loss of power during that lap and he explained the problem afterwards: “We had an MGU-H rotation speed problem – it was something we spotted last night, and unfortunately confirmed it this morning. We didn’t have enough time to replace it, so we were left with two options: to race or not to race. “We went for the first option, and tried to do as much as we could, out of respect for the amazing fans here in Mexico.
