There are plenty of legends roaming the Paddock at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, starting with Emerson Fittipaldi and Nigel Mansell, the latter having what’s left of the Peraltada named after him. But there’s a lesser known figure who for many people is equally worthy of legendary status and can actually trace his start in the world of motorsport back to Ricardo Rodriguez. That man is Jo Ramirez, a Mexican best known as the genial team coordinator for McLaren from 1984 to 2001, having previously spent time with Dan Gurney, Ken Tyrrell the Fittipaldi brothers and various sports car teams.
