Todt promises F1 engine performance balance

FIA president Jean Todt is confident Formula 1 can achieve the right performance balance between different power units, if an independent engine comes on board for 2017. One of the biggest concerns about having an alternative cut-price engine for teams would be the difficulties in making sure that there was a fair performance balance between it and the current 1.6-litre turbo V6s. Todt says the experience of the World Endurance Championship, where Toyota, Audi and Porsche all compete with different types of engines, shows what could be possible for F1. "Of course we will make sure that it is a right balance of performance and we know that we can achieve that," explained Todt....
