Rosberg beats Hamilton to extend pole streak

Nico Rosberg will start on pole position for the fourth F1 race in succession after defeating Lewis Hamilton in a hard fought qualifying session for the Mexican Grand Prix at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Having come into qualifying as the man to beat after topping FP3, Rosberg and Hamilton traded fastest times ahead of Q3, but it was a rapid opening effort of 1min 19.480secs in the deciding 10min session that would go on to stand until the chequered flag. Marking his fourth straight pole position after successes in Japan, Russia and the USA, Rosberg will now go into the race seeking his first win since the Austrian Grand Prix in June.
