Mexico FP1: Verstappen tops on tricky track

Teenage rookie Max Verstappen topped the timing screens in an official F1 practice session for the first time by ending FP1 fastest of all at the Hermanos Rodriguez Circuit in Mexico City. The Toro Rosso driver appeared to cut the track in the middle sector which may have aided his time, but prior to that he was fastest of all in the first sector. Nevertheless it was an impressive feat for the youngster, outgunning hisfar more experienced rivals on arguably the most level of playing fields so far this year – namely a track no one had driven before.
