Sauber close to building its own simulator
Sauber is on the verge of giving the green light to finally installing a simulator at its Hinwil headquarters. The Swiss outfit is one of the few outfits without its own simulator, although Manor and Toro Rosso are able to make use of other team's facilities. Although financial restrictions prevented it building its own simulator in the past, an improved outlook on that front has allowed a rethink. Speaking at the Mexican Grand Prix, Sauber team principal Monisha Kaltenborn said that it was finally close to giving approval for commissioning one. “We are close to making a decision on it,” she said. “I think depending on which one we go for, it takes at least three to six months...
