Daniil Kvyat: “I’m disappointed with myself”

Daniil Kvyat admitted his disappointment after crashing out of the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas on Sunday having been challenging Lewis Hamilton for the lead in the opening stages of the race when the track was at its wettest. The Infiniti Red Bull Racing driver had dropped out of contention for the win when the track dried out, and was just inside the points in tenth when he ran wide at the penultimate corner of the lap and hit the inside wall, bringing out the safety car. “The opening laps were mega, it was very enjoyable and it was nice fighting, but then the track dried out,” reflected Kvyat. “If it was a wet race I felt it could have been a victory...
