Red Bull did hold VW talks
Christian Horner has fuelled speculation that Honda could become Red Bull's new engine partner for 2016 by refusing to quash speculation they have asked the Japanese firm for a power supply. The Red Bull team principal expects a final decision to be made within the next couple of weeks as an alternative power unit to Renault's is sought. Red Bull and Renault have had a tempestuous relationship since F1 introduced hybrid V6 engines at the start of 2014. However, after serving notice of their intention to terminate the partnership, the four-time world champions have been rejected by Mercedes and only offered year-old Ferrari units.
