Rosberg slides to top time in FP1

CLICK HERE for the full United States Grand Prix FP1 result Nico Rosberg has opened up quickest in first free practice for the United States Grand Prix as drivers took advantage of wet weather running on a weekend that is set to be blighted by inclement weather. As predicted, the stormy weather front being pushed towards Texas by the onset of Hurricane Patricia just south of Mexico made its presence felt in time for FP1, with the circuit proving slippery – if not sodden – throughout. Indeed, though air temperatures remained close to 30 degrees and the rain would stay away for FP1, high humidity ensured the circuit never evolved from damp in most places.
