US GP: FP2 delayed “indefinitely” due to lightning threat
The start of second practice for the United States Grand Prix has been delayed due to the poor weather conditions. While the rain had stopped for the opening practice session in the morning, a big thunderstorm hit the Circuit of the Americas ahead of the start of FP2. COTA warned fans at the track to seek coverage due to the proximity of lightning. The FIA said the session's start will be delayed "indefinitely" as it waits for the weather to improve. "Start of P2 will be delayed indefinitely. Marshals unable to work due to the proximity of lightning," said the FIA. Flights out of the nearby Austin airport have been affected by the proximity of the lightning as well.
