Tost: Honda & Renault to be 'much closer next year'

Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost believes that both Honda and Renault will catch up to Mercedes and Ferrari next year and provide closer competition in Formula One's power unit battle. Toro Rosso are to part company with Renault at the end of this season following parent company Red Bull's decision to separate from the French manufacturers. Both parties have been disappointed with the performance and reliability of this season's Renault power unit. Despite the split, Tost is confident that both Renault and Honda (who have also struggled in the first year of their return to the sport) will make ground on pace-setters Mercedes and Ferrari. “I expect them to be much closer next year,”...
