Pirelli to continue as Formula 1 tyre supplier

Pirelli Media Pirelli will continue to act as Formula 1's sole tyre supplier until the end of the 2019 season after agreeing a new deal with Bernie Ecclestone. Pirelli has been the sport's sole tyre supplier since the start of 2011, though the FIA opened up a tender process, in which Pirelli was joined by Michelin in lodging a bid for the 2017-19 contract. Ecclestone confirmed prior to the start of the Russian Grand Prix that Pirelli would extend its stay in the sport and the Italian company confirmed that a deal has been reached.
