Sainz hopeful to race on Sunday following hospital release

Carlos Sainz Jr has been released from hospital following his free practice crash at the Sochi Autodrom, and still has ambitions about starting the race on Sunday. The Scuderia Toro Rosso driver was airlifted to hospital following the crash that curtailed the final practice session of the weekend in Russia, after finding himself beneath the Tecpro barriers after running straight on at turn thirteen after losing control of his STR10. Sainz has revealed that he has soreness in his back and neck following the accident, and will need to go through a fitness test with the FIA on Sunday morning, with the outcome of the test deciding whether the Spaniard will race or not. “My back and my neck...
