Sainz wants to race as doctors confirm 'no injuries'

Carlos Sainz is hoping to compete in Sunday's Russian Grand Prix despite suffering a high-speed crash during third practice on Saturday morning. The Spaniard was airlifted to hospital to undergo precautionary checks after losing control of his Toro Rosso at Turn 13, resulting in a heavy impact with the barriers. Whilst he will remain in hospital overnight, he is keen to race on Sunday after his doctors confirmed he sustained no injuries. "After arriving at the Sochi Hospital 4, Carlos Sainz, who never lost consciousness, underwent a medical examination, including a full body scan.
