Sainz 'perfectly conscious' after practice crash

Red Bull/Getty Images Toro Rosso has confirmed that Carlos Sainz is 'perfectly conscious' after suffering a high-speed crash during final practice for the Russian Grand Prix. Sainz's Toro Rosso left the circuit at Turn 13 and hit the barriers, after which he was stuck in the car due to his STR10 being beneath the barriers. Sainz was extricated from his car and taken to the medical centre, after which he was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
