Breaking News: Sainz involved in big crash during FP3 at Sochi

Toro Rosso driver Carlos Sainz suffered a heavy crash during FP3 for the Russian Grand Prix, the Spaniard's car ended buried deep into the barriers after he lost control at Turn 13 at the end of a long straight. Medical crews were in attendance andan official announced that Sainz was conscious. The young Spaniard gave thumbs up as he was stretchered from the scene of the shunt. The session was terminated. It was not immediately evident what caused the crash at one of the fastest parts of the circuit, although several tyre marks were visible along the concrete barrier on the outside of the track.
