Alonso, Merhi grid penalties confirmed
– Formula 1's governing body, the FIA, has confirmed the precise details of Fernando Alonso and Roberto Merhi's engine-related grid penalties for this weekend's Russian Grand Prix.Alonso has been hit with a 25-place grid penalty, while Merhi receives a 20-place drop, after both drivers took on new power unit elements for Friday's first session at Sochi Autodrom.Alonso's is made up of 10 places for a 10th Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), plus five each for a ninth Turbo Charger (TC), ninth Motor Generator Unit-Heat (MGU-H) and seventh Control Electronics (CE).Merhi loses 10 places for a fifth ICE, along with five each for a fifth TC and MGU-H.Merhi is back in action for Manor...
