FP1: Hulkenberg quickest at slippery Sochi

A diesel spillage that marshals tried to wash away with water resulted in a delayed start to FP1 in Russia, an extremely slippery track and a P1 for Nico Hulkenberg. Although FP1 began on time it did so without any drivers on the track due to a diesel spillage from a sweeper truck at Turn 8. As the marshals tried to wash away the spillage, the drivers sat in their garages with Race Control having announced that there'd be no running for the first 30 minutes. Once the drivers were cleared to run – with a lot of 'track slippery' notices up for the teams – they headed out for installation laps on the intermediate tyres with Sebastian Vettel stating 'what a mess' as he went through...
