Pirelli hopes to make Russian GP a 2- or 3-stopper

 XPB Images Pirelli motorsport chief Paul Hembery hopes that softer tyre nominations for this weekend’s Russian Grand Prix will make the race a two- or three-stopper, and avoid a repeat of last year’s processional affair. Formula One’s sole tyre supplier made a deliberately conservative choice ahead of its maiden visit to Sochi Autodrom, which allowed most of the field to stop only once on the soft and medium compounds.
