Williams: We learnt a lot

Williams report from day one of the Japanese Grand Prix weekend at Suzuka. Objectives: Wet set-up and tyre work. Rob Smedley, Head of Performance Engineering: 'It was a reasonably quiet day. This morning’s wet track gave us a chance to test the car and tyres in problem situations such as when the track is crossing over between the wet and intermediate tyre. Our tests were well-executed and we learnt a lot. The rest of the day was tougher and we now have a very busy FP3 to capture all the data ready for the race.
