Sainz fastest in wet Practice 1
Carlos Sainz set the fastest time during the first free practice at Suzuka. The Red Bull seemed competitive with Kvyat running, who was in second only half a second off the pace. Mercedes didn't show much to improve their image after their Singapore setback, Rosberg was in P3. Ferrari took fifth and seventh with Vettel leader their charge. Carlos Sainz in the Scuderia Toro Rosso once again showed his rookie skill, and beat competition to go fastest of all. The Spaniard set a 1.49.434, with his nearest competitor Daniil Kvyat in the Red Bull, who was 0.504 a drift of the Toro Rosso driver.
