Renault switch was a 'serious option' - Perez

Sergio Perez has admitted he held serious talks with Renault about joining the French manufacturers potential new works team, before finally deciding to remain at Force India. The Mexican driver had been linked with a move to Lotus - the target of a Renault takeover - to replace Romain Grosjean. However despite it being a "serious option", he confirmed on Wednesday that he'd signed a new one-year deal with his current team. "Obviously you always listen to other options and other offers, and obviously Renault – if they come – they are a very attractive team," Perez said of the interest.
