Sergio Perez: Renault was ‘a serious option’
Sergio Perez has admitted moving to the Renault works team for 2016 was a serious option before deciding to commit his Formula 1 future with Sahara Force India. Perez finally announced his plans on Thursday as he confirmed his contract with Force India had been extended for 2016. He had been heavily linked with joining Renault, who look ever more likely to be taking over the Lotus F1 Team at the end of this season, but the Mexican poured cold water on the reason that he chose Force India was because Renault had yet to announce its plans for 2016.
