Sainz: 'I would've given the position back'

Singapore Grand Prix – Toro Rosso's Carlos Sainz has said that he would've given P8 back to team-mate Max Verstappen had he not been able to pass Sergio Perez. Towards the end of the Singapore Grand Prix, Max Verstappen was chasing seventh place driver Sergio Perez when he was instructed to allow his team-mate – Carlos Sainz, who was running in P9 – to overtake and attempt to overtake the Force India ahead. Verstappen immediately denied the request, staying ahead of Sainz until the end of the race, subsequently being unable to pass Perez.
