Ricciardo pleased to match Vettel pace

Red Bull/Getty Images Daniel Ricciardo said he was pleased to match the pace of race winner Sebastian Vettel after claiming second position at the Singapore Grand Prix. Ricciardo collected second place at Marina Bay after trailing Vettel throughout the race, remaining around three seconds behind his former team-mate for much of the 61 laps. "I think Sebastian experimented a bit today, start of the race he just went and realised towards the end of the stint I was coming," he said. "I think if it wasn’t for the Safety Car we would have got very close in terms of the pit stop and maybe the undercut was possible, but then in the second stint it seemed he learned from the first...
