Jenson Button has called Mercedes downfall "exactly what the sport needs" after the Brackley based team could only manage fifth and sixth in qualifying. Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel secured a dominant pole position on Saturday ahead of Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo, with both their team-mates lining up behind in third and fourth. The result is Mercedes' worst since the beginning of the new turbo era, but it has injected some excitement into what has been a season dominated by Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
