Quickest Kvyat wary of true Mercedes pace

Daniil Kvyat says it is too early to tell whether Red Bull can mount a significant challenge towards Mercedes in the Singapore Grand Prix despite emerging as the surprise front runner of the first day of action around the Marina Bay Circuit. With Mercedes seemingly struggling to get the best from the super-soft tyres, Kvyat rose to the fore in the Red Bull as the former title-winning team enjoyed easily its best start to a race weekend this year. Indeed, given Kvyat missed much of the FP1 session due to fuel system issues, he was surprised to bounce back so comprehensively in FP2.
