Alexander Rossi to make F1 debut with Manor

Alexander Rossi will make his Formula 1 debut at this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix after signing a deal with Manor Marussia. The American will drive in five of the seven remaining races of the season replacing regular Manor pilot Roberto Merhi, who will take up the role of reserve driver. Rossi, lying second in the GP2 Series standings, will relinquish the seat to Merhi in Russia and Abu Dhabi in order to complete his GP2 commitments with the Racing Engineering squad. The 23-year-old will become the first American to compete in F1 since Scott Speed in 2007. “I’ve been prepared for this opportunity for quite a while now,” said Rossi, who was a reserve driver at Manor last year....
