Smoggy Singapore – Could the race be cancelled?

Recent doubts have surfaced over whether or not this weekends Singapore Grand Prix will actually be able to go ahead after increased levels of haze and smog in the past couple of days. Flights throughout the region have already been diverted or cancelled due to the haze, thought to have blown over from Indonesia. The mist has proved to have an unpredictable nature; it’s highly changeable, alternating levels in as little time as a single hour. The Straits Times has reported that the Pollutant Standards Index was between 126 and 151 on Tuesday.
