Pirelli and FIA draws up 'clearer procedure' for tyre use

Pirelli says it will define a 'clearer procedure for teams regarding tyre usage' following recent incidents at the Belgian and Italian Grand Prix. Paul Hembery, Pirelli motorsport director, says the tyre manufacturer is set to work with the FIA and Formula 1 teams at the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix to set out strict instructions on tyre usage. These rules will be applied to ensure the recent spate of tyre failures and controversies are avoided. At Spa both Mercedes' Nico Rosberg and Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel suffered tyre blow outs which sparked an investigation by Pirelli.
