Singapore GP in Jeopardy Due to Haze

Singapore has been shrouded in a haze of smog. Organizers have begun monitoring the air quality for public health and safety concerns. This is due to farmers in the neighboring country of Indonesia burning forests to clear land for agricultural purposes. Officials say the smog is being rated as mid-to low air quality. A number of sports events in Singapore were cancelled this weekend due to the potential issues of the smog. The Singapore National Environment agency said that pollutant standard index levels show little chance for change for the Grand Prix. However, this has occurred before to Formula 1.
