Nico Rosberg left disconsolate after engine failure
Italian Grand Prix – Nico Rosberg was unhappy after the Monza race, having retired in the late stages with an engine failure. Rosberg had been forced into using an old engine; an engine that had already completed 5 Grands Prix. This was after a coolant problem was discovered on his new power unit for Monza. While no penalties were incurred due to running an old unit, the decision to run it came back to bite Mercedes as it failed in the closing stages of the race. Rosberg had only managed to qualify P4 for the race and lost positions at the start due to having to negotiate his way past the stationary Kimi Raikkonen.
