Monza FP2: Hamilton fastest as Rosberg reduces gap

Lewis Hamilton ended day one of the Italian Grand Prix weekend fastest of all by topping the timing sheets at the end of Free Practice 2, with Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg breathing down his neck. The Silver Arrows pair were again in another league, but the half second gap which Hamilton enjoyed over Rosberg was whittled down a a mere 0.025 of a second and suggesting that the two will once again slug it out in qualifying and race with very little to separate them. Sebastian Vettel in the Ferrari was best of the rest, third fastest but three quarters of a second down on Hamilton's top time.
