Pirelli aims to 'clear' the air' with Ferrari at Monza

His penultimate lap tyre failure, which was to end Sebastian Vettel's hopes of a podium finish and result in Ferrari 'celebrating' its 900th F1 Grand Prix with the paltry six points Kimi Raikkonen snatched, resulted in an uncharacteristically scathing attack from the German, who placed all the blame on Pirelli. The Italian tyre manufacturer was quick to hit back, first blaming Ferrari for its race strategy and then revealing that it has been calling on the sport's powers that be to limit teams to the number of laps they can run on their tyres.
