Guy Ligier passes away aged 85
– Former Formula 1 team owner Guy Ligier, whose eponymous squad competed in the sport for two decades, has passed away at the age of 85.Ligier competed in selected Grands Prix in the late 1960s before turning his attention to team ownership, with his own squad joining the sport in 1976.Ligier claimed several victories with Jacques Laffite between 1977 and 1981 before results faded, with Ligier selling the team in 1992, prior to Alain Prost's acquisition of the outfit ahead of the 1997 campaign.McLaren Racing Director Eric Boullier paid tribute to his compatriot Ligier."It was with great sadness that I heard the news that Guy Ligier had passed away," said Boullier."As a...
