Perez sets sights on podium from second row

Sergio Perez feels his Force India is quick enough to challenge for its first podium of the season in the Belgian Grand Prix after landing a row two start at Spa-Francorchamps. Around a circuit that has favoured the Force India team in the past, Perez came good on predictions that the VJM08 would also prove quick once more, easing into Q3 before setting the fifth fastest time of the session. With Romain Grosjean ahead being given a penalty, Perez will get away from fourth position, marking his best grid slot since the 2014 Bahrain Grand Prix when he last stood on the F1 podium.
