Practice halted after Rosberg tyre failure
Nico Rosberg was lucky to avoid a big accident during Friday practice for the Belgian Grand Prix after suffering a spectacular tyre failure. The right rear tyre on the German's Mercedes failed on the long run down to Blanchimont corner with just less than 30 minutes of practice remaining. The incident pitched Rosberg into a spin. But despite snaking down the track and looping around, he eventually came to a rest in the run-off area without hitting anything. The session was red-flagged.
