Rosberg fastest despite gearbox problems; Maldonado crashes – FP1 Report
Belgian Grand Prix – Nico Rosberg has gone fastest for Mercedes in the first practice session in Belgium. The German driver led a Mercedes 1-2 as Lewis Hamilton was second. Daniel Ricciardo finished third for Red Bull while Lotus' Pastor Maldonado crashed during the session. Maldonado brought out the red flags 53 minutes into the opening practice session of the second half of the season, darting off into the tyre wall on the exit of the off camber Rivage. The Venezuelan’s Lotus sustained significant damage to the front and rear right side which could be a slight worry for the cash strapped Enstone based outfit.
