Rosberg fastest in opening Spa practice

Mercedes racer Nico Rosberg topped opening practice for the Belgian Grand Prix, as Formula 1 returned from its summer break. Rosberg overcame an early loss of drive to set the fastest lap of the morning, posting a 1m51.082s to beat team-mate Lewis Hamilton by 0.242s seconds. Daniel Ricciardo was third quickest for Red Bull, ahead of the two Ferraris of Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel. Daniil Kvyat lapped sixth fastest in the second Red Bull, leading Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr. in the pair of Toros Rossos.
