McLaren heading to Belgium with grid penalties looming
Belgian Grand Prix – The second half of the season is unlikely to start happily for McLaren, as the team look certain to take grid penalties for the Belgian Grand Prix. The team were recently granted a ‘free' engine change' thanks to a mid-season rules revision. The rules now allow a new manufacturer 5 engines for the season, with existing manufacturers permitted just 4. The rule was retrospectively applied to McLaren-Honda but, as they had already hit their 5th engine change, they were allowed to take new engines for last month's Hungarian Grand Prix without taking any grid penalty. However, another engine change will result in penalties and this looks set to happen...
