No more new teams to join F1 in 2016 - FIA

No more new teams will join Haas on the Formula 1 grid next season, the FIA has announced. Applications for prospective new teams to join the sport in either 2016 or 2017 were opened in May, with the original deadline set for the end of June, before later being extended to the end of July. Two teams submitted plans, but neither made the grade. “We can confirm that the FIA received two candidate Formula 1 team applications for vacant grid slots,” an FIA spokesperson told Autosport. “We subsequently put these through our comprehensive diligence processes.
