Ferrari facing penalties for use of fifth engine

Mercedes looks set to be the only manufacturer on the Formula 1 grid that will reach the chequered flag this year on the long-life engine rules, with penalties looming for main challengers Ferrari. The Maranello outfit, who are biting the heels of pacesetters Mercedes this year on the ‘power unit' front, will nonetheless be taking penalties this year for using fifth engines. Autosprint reports that a scheduled upgrade for the Ferrari unit will debut at Monza, costing the Maranello marque two performance ‘tokens'.
