Alonso, Button get ‘free' Honda engines for Hungary

McLaren drivers Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button will both make use of fresh Honda engines for this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix. Alonso and Button have both already used their fifth engines of the season, but have been granted a ‘free’ power unit in light of the World Motor Sport Council’s decision to allow new manufacturers an extra power unit it their first year of competition. This regulation has been retroactively applied to 2015 entrant Honda, granting McLaren a fifth penalty free engine. Alonso, who claimed his maiden win in Hungary back in 2003, is hopeful that McLaren will be able to showcase its recent progress at the Hungaroring this weekend, with outright engine...
