Bianchi's number 17 to be retired

Formula 1's governing body has announced that the number 17 used by the late Jules Bianchi will be retired in honour of the Frenchman. Bianchi passed away on Saturday, nine months after suffering massive head trauma when he crashed into a recovery vehicle at the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka. Last season was the first in which drivers could chose their numbers, and Bianchi's first choice was not 17, but rather 7, 27 or 77. However, he had to settle for 17 as his preferred numbers were already allocated to drivers ranked higher than him. It is the number 17 that will forever be associated with Bianchi though, with the the International Automobile Federation...
