Merhi excluded from junior series event

Manor Marussia F1 Team Manor Marussia driver Roberto Merhi has been excluded from the results of this weekend's Formula Renault 3.5 Series round in Austria after triggering a huge crash at the finish. Merhi slowed suddenly as he crossed the line in fourth position at the Red Bull Ring and was collected by rival Nicholas Latifi, who was sent flipping over the back of Merhi's Pons machine. Neither driver was injured in the accident but Merhi, who was demoted to 11th following a separate time penalty for exceeding track limits, was later disqualified from the results and prohibited from participating in the second race.
