No F1 seat guarantees for Vandoorne

McLaren test driver Stoffel Vandoorne concedes he faces an uphill battle to make it onto the F1 grid in 2016, even if he wins the GP2 title. The 23-year-old currently leads the F1 feeder series by a comfortable 65 points following four race victories and four podiums for the ART Grand Prix squad. McLaren have made it clear that they rate the youngster very highly and are eager to get him a seat next year, but Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button and reserve driver Jenson Button are all ahead of him in the queue. 'Formula 1 has always been a very competitive sport, everybody knows that,' the Belgian said. 'There have always been drivers that have done well and they haven't got to Formula 1....
