‘Dummy’ pit stops outlawed following Mercedes trick

Following Mercedes tried a 'dummy' pit stop at the British Grand Prix, the governing body FIA have outlawed the perform. Mercedes tried to trick Williams into making an early pit stop – but failed, at the British Grand Prix. On lap 14 of 52, Mercedes sent its pit squad out in to the pit lane to try force Williams in to an early stop, but with neither Williams driver reacting the pit crew were withdrawn, It didn’t work however. Mercedes boss, Toto Wolff, spoke of the incident following the race – 'We know that Williams has more difficulties in making the tyres last at the end and we knew that triggering an early stop would make them think, are we able to do that?
