Mercedes may relent on engine development for good of F1

Mercedes' Toto Wolff says it will consider changing its position on engine development in an effort to offer a lifeline to Renault and Honda in the interests of the sport as a whole. With Renault struggling to bring its much maligned power unit up to speed within the fairly restrictive development parameters set in the wake of introducing the V6 Hybrid regulations, and Honda also well behind after a tough start to its latest F1 endeavour, Mercedes admits the limitations could be up for review.
