Alonso hits out at 'unbelievable' driving standards

McLaren Honda Fernando Alonso hit out at the driving standards on the opening lap of the British Grand Prix after three drivers were eliminated in a collision at Village. Daniel Ricciardo and Romain Grosjean battled for position and the Frenchman was forced into team-mate Pastor Maldonado, causing both to retire. Alonso had to take avoiding action and half-spun into McLaren team-mate Jenson Button, leading to terminal damage on the Briton's MP4-30. Alonso was able to pit for repairs and battled on to score his first point of the season courtesy of 10th position in a race with 13 finishers. "The start was unbelievable," he said.
