Fernando Alonso: “We knew this race would be tough”

Fernando Alonso could only qualify seventeenth for the British Grand Prix, but felt he got the most out of his McLaren-Honda car after experiencing a problem with the car during final practice that meant an uncertain start to qualifying. A leak in the hybrid system had been detected but was unable to be fixed in time for qualifying, but the Spaniard felt he did the best job he could, admitting that he expected the Silverstone weekend to be tough, and adding that he feels there are further tough weekends to come. “I had a problem at the end of FP3 this morning,” revealed Alonso. “There was no clear resolution to the problem, but we found a suitable solution, and everything started...
